I’m Mia Wexford, an IT security professional based in Australia with a passion for online privacy and VPN technology. My journey in cybersecurity started at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where I earned my degree in Information Technology, focusing on network systems and digital security. That education gave me a strong technical foundation, but my real expertise comes from over fifteen years of hands-on experience.

From 2008 to 2012, I worked as a Network Administrator and Security Analyst at a major Australian telecommunications company. There, I learned how ISPs operate, how data is collected and managed, and how to implement robust network security measures at scale.

Between 2012 and 2016, I worked as an IT Security Consultant for small and medium-sized businesses across Melbourne. I designed security solutions, performed vulnerability assessments, and trained staff on best practices, helping organisations protect themselves against evolving cyber threats.

Since 2016, I’ve been working independently as a Security Consultant and Educator, specialising in VPNs and privacy solutions for individuals and families. My work includes personal consultations, security audits, educational content creation, and ongoing research into emerging threats and tools.

Beyond my professional work, I am also active in Australian privacy advocacy, contributing to discussions on data retention laws, participating in cybersecurity forums, and collaborating with privacy-focused organisations to promote digital rights and safer online practices.

I continue to develop and refine technologies that make secure, private internet use accessible to everyone. My goal is simple: to empower people to take control of their online safety while enjoying the internet freely and securely.
